Quetzatl Review/Free Tracks for Knoxtronica Presents

Wednesday marks the the day for our Artist Review. Not only is it our first but it will be a very special edition with Kodez (Tracks), new and old, for this edition of Knoxtronica's Weekly Reviews. If you haven't noticed it is 12/21/11 which is a year before the Mayan's calendars end. So to mark this very special date I have a good friend, Esiris, with the stage name of Quetzatl that has come together with Knoxtronica to bring you some really cool stuff for you. I first met this guy at the Freddy Todd show in Knoxville on the 2nd of December and he instantly gave me a disc of his Brad Bitt mixes and started asking about Knoxtronica Presents. Sense then he has been a lot of help with many sorts of things I do and now we have finally organized a review for you all with not only a free track he released for the review but an unreleased track from back in 05/06 available now on the Knoxtronica Presents Soundcloud.

Now the new track he has released today is drumstep and what sounds like cyberblap to me. His production to me is like listening to frequencies from another galaxy. With mechanical like lurching bass over fresh beats with the most abstract yet captivating progression. "Sychronicity", as the track is cleverly named, is for sure an outer-worldly banger. Not only do we have that track for free download for you but also a track he has pulled out that is unreleased from back in 05/06 that is a drum&bass vintage masterpiece called "Gravitational Red Shift". This one has been in many Quetzatl sets and never until now has been available for download. With fast drums backing gritty bass and orchestral highlights and constant switch-ups remind me of an underground Venetian Snares, its amazing how this song is so old and just now available for download.

Playing for over a decade now, Quetzatl, has been growing and also doing other things in the electronic scene. Asheville based and a big part in Waveform Modulations, Esiris, continues to push the boundaries around him in the electronic scene effortlessly dipping his talents into every aspect he can. His Quetzatl project alone, not including his Brad Bitt project, has preformed with such artists as STS9, LTJ Bukem, DJ Spooky, Richard Devine, Eliot Lipp, Makoto, UFO!, Living Legends, Black Rebels, GalaxC Girl, Freddy Todd, d-Queue, Pericles, J.Tonal, Production Unit Xero, Mochipet, Fresh2Death, Stephan Jacobs, Scorb, Androcell, Bluetech, Kimball Collins, Hive, Ming & FS, Larry Keel, Phantom 45, DJ Matt B, Cyberjive, Knowa Knowone, Selector Cleofus, J-Luv, Acoustic Syndicate, Shapestatic, Blue Spectral Monkey, Electrypnose, Jeff Bujak, White Noise, Aligning Minds, Northstar, Random, Burning Spear and many more.
